From July 19 to 21, 2024 in Tuy
Hoa City, Phu Yen province, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association (the
Association) successfully organized activities within the framework of the 16th
national progress conference. Delegates and guests of Phu Yen province included
Mr. Dao My, Member of provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the provincial
People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, sectors, agencies,
Union of Friendship Organizations, Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association and
representatives of leaders of bilateral friendship associations with countries
of Phu Yen province.

Attending the Conference were about 200 delegates who are
members of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship
Association, delegates of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of
provinces and cities and its association branches in a number of ministries, sectors,
military, military branches, universities, alumni liaison committees of
universities of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation.
At the opening of the Conference, Dr. Phan Chi Hieu,
President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Chairman of the Vietnam -
Russia Friendship Association, stated: "The 16th progress conference aims
to summarize work of the first 6 months of the year, sets out an operational
plan for the last 6 months of 2024 and the upcoming period. The conference is
also an opportunity for delegates and members of local associations and branches
across the country to meet, exchange and enhance mutual understanding; Let's
exchange, discuss, share experiences, and propose solutions to further enhance
the effectiveness of the Association's operations. At the same time, it is also
an opportunity to experience the reality of the socio-economic development
situation in Phu Yen province; enhance understanding of the activities of the
Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association and Vietnam - Russia relations in
general; contributing to enhancing the role, position, and image of the Vietnam
- Russia Friendship Association locally and nationwide."

Mr. Dao My, Vice Chairman of Phu
Yen Provincial People's Committee, expressed his joy when Phu Yen was chosen to
organize the national progress conference by the Vietnam - Russia Friendship
Association, and also informed about some outstanding achievements of the
province after 35 years of re-establishment, construction and development. Vice
Chairman Dao My highly appreciated the activities of the Vietnam - Russia
Friendship Association of Phu Yen province, which has positively contributed to
the results of the province's people-to-people diplomacy in recent times.
At the Conference, it was reported
that 2024 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 6th
Congress, the 2023 - 2028 term of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship
Association. From the beginning of the year until now, all levels of
associations have implemented the Congress resolutions, achieving many positive
results in all aspects of work: solidarity - friendship, people-to-people
exchanges, bridges for cooperation and in other fields. The Association has
made strides in its form of operation, making its activities more rich and
attractive, creating connections and bonds between association members and
Russian partners and friends in Vietnam. The Vietnam - Russia Friendship
Association and the Vietnam - Russia Association in localities and the
Association's Branches regularly coordinate, exchange information, and promptly
orient the association's activities.
The Association's diplomatic
activities always thoroughly grasp and strictly comply with the direction of
superiors, in the right direction, contributing to improving the effectiveness
of people-to-people diplomacy, promoting the traditional friendly relationship
between two countries, Vietnam and the Russian Federation. Activities of the
association's media agency include website “http: www.hoihuunghivietnga.vn” and
Bach Duong Magazine, which promote their role as a bridge and channel providing
rich, diverse and timely information about activities of the Vietnam - Russia
Association in the central level, localities and member association branches as
well as update important information on the situation of Vietnam - Russian
Federation and relationship between two countries. The report also outlines the
work plan for the last 6 months of the year with 10 key tasks.

Conference
Within the framework of the
Conference, delegates also watched the reportage film "Phu Yen - 35 years
looking back and looking forward to the future" produced by Phu Yen
Provincial Radio and Television Station on the occasion of the 35th Anniversary
of the re-establishment of Phu Yen province; shared information about the
situation of the Russian Federation and Vietnam - Russia relations; mentioned a
number of issues about the Association's development prospects by the
Association's Leadership; shared information about activities in localities
such as: Bac Giang, Phu Yen, Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association Branch in Hanoi
University of Business and Technology; as well as Russian language promotion
activities in Vietnam; Vietnamese - Russian cultural exchanges, etc.
The Vietnam - Russia Friendship
Association also transferred the flag to host the 17th National Conference in
2025 to the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hai Duong province.
