​On the morning of February 27 of 2022, at the Golden Lotus Convention Center, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations in collaboration with the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of the province successfully organized the 2^nd Congress of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Dong Nai  province, term 2021 - 2026. Attending the Congress were Mr. WATANABE NOBUHIRO - Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Son Hung – Member of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Tan Linh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Training Commission and nearly 100 delegates who are representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, organizations, localities, FDI enterprises, members of the Association, Vietnam – Japan Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, Lac Hong University, Sonadezi College of Technology and Management, representatives of leaders of 10 bilateral and multilateral friendship associations of the province, reporters from newspapers and radio agencies.

 

Executive Committee of the 2^nd Congress of Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association, term 2021 - 2026.

The 2nd Congress of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association in Dong Nai province, term 2021 - 2026 approved the summary report of the operational results for the 2016 - 2021 term; review report of the Executive Board, term I, period 2016 - 2021; some amendment of the Association's operation charter and orientations and solutions to strengthen people to people diplomacy for the 2021-2026 term; at the same time, elected 19/21 members of the Executive Committee, 07 members of the Standing Committee, 03 members of the Inspection Committee, the titles of President, and Vice-President of the Association. At the 1st Executive Committee Meeting, the Association elected Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet - former Deputy Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to be re-elected Chairman of the second term.

At the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Son Hung - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized the role of Friendship Associations in maintaining and developing the bilateral friendship between Dong Nai province and other countries. As for Japan, in recent years, Dong Nai province has promoted the relationships in many fields such as economy, science and technology transfer, high technology development, supporting industry, environmental industry, agricultural product processing, infrastructure development and cultural exchange. Currently, Japan is one of the largest investors investing in Dong Nai with 262 projects with a total capital of over 5.1 billion USD. Dong Nai province has signed friendship cooperation agreements in each field with 07 Japanese partners, including Hyogo province (Japan). Two provinces also maintain and develop traditional cultural exchange activities between the two localities through cultural exchange trips, human resource training courses of Dong Nai province in Japan. In the coming time, the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association is proposed to further develop as a bridge to build a relationship of peace, solidarity, friendship among the peoples of the two countries.

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. WATANABE NOBUHIRO - Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City said that Dong Nai province is a large concentration area of ​​foreign companies, including Japanese companies. There are currently about 140 Japanese enterprises operating in Dong Nai province and about 260 investments categories, showing a deep concern of Japan to Dong Nai province. The Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Dong Nai province has always contributed to the good relationship between Dong Nai and Japan in many aspects, he believed that the role of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of the province would promote moreover, the relationship between Dong Nai province and Japan will be further developing.

On this occasion, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of the province mobilized 25 scholarships worth 25 million VND for students with difficult circumstances studying Japanese language at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Lac Hong University and Sonadezi College of Technology and Management, sponsored by Sakaguchi Plastics Vietnam Co., Ltd and Dai Hong Phuoc Construction Co., Ltd.

In addition to the main contents of the Congress, it also held many activities such as art performances with bold colors of Vietnam - Japan cultural exchange, an exhibition of paintings of the winners at the Vietnam – Japan Friendship Painting Contest, which express the affection and friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Japan.
