On the morning of October 25, 2024, in Bien Hoa
city, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Nai province organized the
2024 training course on foreign non-governmental affairs. Attending the course
were Ms. Do Thi Kim Dung - Deputy Head of the People's Aid Coordinating
Committee, Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations; Ms. Dang Thi Xuan Tham -
Standing Member of Dong Nai provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Mr.
Nguyen Thanh Tri - President of Dong Nai province Union of Friendship
Organizations; Mr. Nguyen Van Binh - Deputy Director of Dong Nai province Department
of Health and approximately 300 trainees who are officials, civil servants, public employees working in departmentssectors, agencies, schools
in localities, members of friendship associations...

Nai province Union of Friendship Organizations Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tri
shared: Dong Nai province Party Committee and People's Committee always pay
attention to and identify foreign non-governmental affairs as an important
channel of people-to-people diplomacy in implementing the foreign policy and
guidelines of our Party and State. Over the past time, Dong Nai province has
gradually built a favorable and proactive legal environment in foreign
non-governmental affairs. Sofar, Dong Nai province has established cooperative
relationships with 62 foreign non-governmental organizations (NGO). During the 2019
– 2025 period, Dong Nai province has received 185 foreign non-governmental grants
with a total committed value worth about 17,243,898 USD, equivalent to more
than 431 billion dong. NGO projects in the
province, including sources of social responsibility implementation of FDI
enterprises and businesses participating in supporting medical supplies to
prevent and control the Covid - 19 pandemic, have followed the orientation of
prior fields and areas of the province, contributing to economic and social
development, improving people's lives, supporting the prevention, control, and
treatment of Covid -19 in the province. However, awareness of foreign non-governmental affairs samong
a part of officials and civil servants in agencies, units and localities in the
province is not complete, they are still afraid, simply consider foreign
non-governmental affairs as an economic aid. They haven’t yet realized that it connects
and boosts the building and establishment of cooperative relationships and
friendly solidarity between the People of Dong Nai province and those of other
countries.

At
the training course, the attendees were given an overview of the situation of foreign non-governmental affairs and notable issues in implementing,
receiving, managing and using NGO aid sources by Ms. Do Thi Kim Dung - Deputy Head
of the People's Aid Coordinating Committee, Vietnam Union of Friendship
Organizations. She shared that the training course will help the trainees
better understand about NGO affairs and the effectiveness of NGO aid, sothat
they can apply to practical situations at their localities and working
position.
Also on
this occasion, the representative of the foreign non-governmental affairs Division
- Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Nai province reported a summary of
the results and notable contents of the foreign non-governmental aid
mobilization and cooperation promotion in Dong Nai province.
