Groundbreaking Ceremony for 10 Friendship Houses for disadvantaged households in the border commune of Bù Gia Mập

On November 1, 2025, the Dong Nai province Union of Friendship Organizations (DUFO), in coordination with the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bù Gia Mập Commune, held a groundbreaking ceremony to build 10 friendship houses for households facing housing difficulties in the area.

It is known that the project of 10 houses has a total funding of more than 830 million VND (equivalent to more than 83 million VND per house), sponsored by the foreign non - governmental organizations data center, with the Dong Nai province Union of Friendship Organizations acting as the unit that mobilizes, connects, and coordinates the implementation.

The foreign non - governmental organizations data center was established in 1993 as a result of close cooperation between foreign non-governmental organizations operating in Vietnam and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO). Throughout its years of operation, the Center made many positive contributions to the work of foreign NGOs in Vietnam. Up to now, the Center has ceased operations following the process of merger and reorganization of the political system.

To ensure the project is implemented transparently and reaches the correct beneficiaries, earlier in October 2025, a working delegation from the Dong Nai province Union of Friendship Organizations conducted a field survey. In coordination with the local authorities, the delegation visited and verified the circumstances of the households on the list proposed by the commune. This project aims to respond to the call of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations to join hands in caring for the poor.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Ms. Trần Thủy Tiên, Vice President of the Dong Nai province Union of Friendship Organizations, emphasized that this is a meaningful activity within the series of events of the Dong Nai Friendship Culture–Sports Week 2025 to celebrate the success of the 1st Congress of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025–2030.

Bù Gia Mập Commune is a border commune where ethnic minority households account for more than 75%, and people's living conditions still face many difficulties. The new solid houses from the project, expected to be completed and handed over in December 2025, will be a practical gift that not only helps families stabilize their lives but also provides motivation for residents to strive to improve their lives and contribute to building their hometown.
