Promoting the core role in people-to-people diplomacy
In 2022, the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations (DUFO) has completed the tasks set out by the people-to-people diplomacy Program of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee. In which there are some tasks that exceed the target. Nearly 40 people-to-people diplomacy activities with rich and diverse content and bright friendship colors were held.

According to Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tri, for 3 consecutive years: 2020, 2021, 2022, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations was awarded the Emulation Flag of the national leader in people-to-people diplomacy by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations

In order to achieve these positive results, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations has actively coordinated in the last year to advise the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee promulgated leadership and directive documents on people-to-people diplomacy. Simultaneously, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations quickly stabilized the organization’s structure; developed action plan and plan to concretize the Party and State's guidelines under the motto "Proactive, flexible, creative, and effective."

In addition, DUFO was active in working with various departments, agencies and sectors to carry out activities, particularly with the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Fatherland Front Committee and provincial departments, sectors and governments of districts and cities. Nearly 40 people-to-people diplomacy events were held, covering every facet of the subject, including: peace, cooperation, and friendship afairs; the dissemination of information and propaganda on people-to-people diplomacy; foreign non-governmental aid mobilization and extending of member organizations. These activities helped to strengthen and cultivate friendship and solidarity, which helped to foster an environment that was conducive to the province's cooperation and development.

With commitments for sponsorship totaling more than 65.5 billion VND in 2022, Dong Nai province has also attracted a lot of interest and sharing from friends around the globe. This has helped the province's social security initiatives get off the ground. Moreover, it helped people better understand one another and strengthened the positive, long-standing ties between the people of Vietnam, Dong Nai, and other countries. At the same time, it organized a number of people-to-people diplomacy events between Dong Nai and foreign diplomatic missions in Ho Chi Minh City.

Furthermore, the friendship associations actively planned numerous practical events, such as: cultural exchanges, traditional meetings, meeting and supporting Lao and Cambodian students studying in Dong Nai; visiting and congratulating on the occasion of National Day, a significant national holiday with which member friendship associations have relations; propagandizing about the relationship between Vietnam and other countries... Between residents of Dong Nai and visitors from other nations, the activities of the member friendship associations served as a bridge of friendship.

In the upcoming years, it is anticipated that both the global and regional situation will remain challenging. This calls for people-to-people diplomacy to be more proactive and adaptable, to take advantage of its advantages, and to promote its pioneering role in creating and sustaining a peaceful environment. The Dong Nai Province Union of Friendship Organizations will therefore concentrate on insight and propaganda to foster a profound understanding of the role, position, and importance of people-to-people diplomacy for leaders of associations, members, cadres, civil servants, officials of agencies, and other units from the province to the grassroots.

In order to foster synergy on the diplomatic front, the Union will additionally work actively in coordination with the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and mass organizations. At the same time, consolidating and tightening with traditional partners, friends, and neighboring countries, while promoting friendship, cooperation, trust, and solidarity. Continue to mobilize and establish new friendship associations in order to grow the network of partners, especially the important countries, strategic and comprehensive partners, foreign regional and local partners, and partners with whom Dong Nai has signed cooperation agreements.

Utilizing the strengths and experiences of each partner, particularly in sustainable development, digital transformation, environmental protection, and human resource development; promoting trade, tourism, investment, cultural cooperation, and education through the planning of people-to-people diplomacy events; and encouraging foreign non-governmental organizations to get involved in the social-economic development of the province.

Additionally, assisting in the successful implementation of the Party's resolutions and instructions by closely coordinating and carrying out synchronously Party, State, and people-to-people diplomacy at all levels and branches with the Fatherland Front Central Committee and the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations.
