At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet - Chairman of the
Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of the province expressed his thanks to
the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City for his arrangement and
receiving the Association. Vietnam - Japan friendship relations are at a good
stage of development. Over the past time, the Vietnam - Japan Friendship
Association of Dong Nai province has actively contributed to building and
cultivating the friendship between the people of the two countries. Many cultural
exchange activities such as cuisine, arts, painting, tea ceremony, traditional
costume performances... were organized and highly appreciated by the Consulate
General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City. On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary
of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan
(September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023), the Association will organize a
Vietnam - Japan Friendship Exchange Program on August 18, 2023. It is expected that
Mr. ONO Masuo will arrange to attend a friendship exchange with the
Association.
Mr. ONO Masuo, shared that he just took office as
Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City on April 19. This is his fourth
term working in Vietnam. Japan and Vietnam established diplomatic relations on
September 21, 1973 and this year marks 50 years of relations. Many Japanese
businesses have expanded their business in Southern Vietnam, and although
travel between the two countries has temporarily decreased due to the impact of
the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of Vietnamese students and workers in Japan
as well as Japanese people working in Vietnam are increasing again. He feels
that the Japan-Vietnam relationship in the future will change into a more
supportive and complementary relationship. At the same time, he will arrange
time to attend the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Exchange Program and actively
contribute to Dong Nai province to further promote economic, social and
cultural exchange relations between Japan and Vietnam.
