During the talks, both sides informed each other of the respective socio-economic development situations. On behalf of the Champasak provincial authorities, Mr. Alounxay Sounnalath congratulated Dong Nai on its outstanding achievements, particularly its milestone of officially becoming the 7th city under direct central management of Vietnam as of April 30, 2026. To enhance bilateral cooperation efficiency, Champasak proposed that both localities expand comprehensive exchanges, strengthen the sharing of professional experience in organizing and supervising the activities of the People's Councils, and requested Dong Nai city to assist in training grassroots-level officials as well as coordinate in developing model communes and wards.
In response, Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh expressed high consensus with Champasak's proposals. She affirmed that the cooperative relationship between Dong Nai and Champasak, maintained since 2011, has always been an invaluable asset and an important foundation for both localities to expand cooperation across various sectors. Introducing the city People's Council's operating motto of "Action - Competence - Professionalism" and its development-enabling orientation, she expressed confidence that practical experience would substantively support the innovation processes of the elected bodies in both localities. Furthermore, with new development space following administrative unit restructuring, Dong Nai stands ready to foster deeper and broader cooperation with Champasak in industry, logistics, high-tech agriculture, and the digital economy.
