The year 2024 is a year of special significance when
Dong Nai province Union of Friendship Organizations (DUFO) summarizes its 2nd
term (for the 2019 – 2024 period) with many achievements in all aspects. These
outstanding marks not only contribute positively to the country's
people-to-people diplomacy, but also affirm its core position and role,
contribute positively to the local socio-economic development.

During the
term, DUFO has always been proactive in consulting and implementing the tasks. Most
of the Party's resolutions and directives on people-to-people diplomacy are
proactively studied and proposed to the Provincial Party Committee and People's
Committee in a timely manner, close to the reality of the province. In
addition, DUFO has organized large-scale conferences on propaganda and
implementation of the tasks targeting many subjects, especially officials,
members, and the team of reporters at the provincial and district levels;
cadres incharge of front work, mass mobilization, propaganda at all levels...
By thoroughly raising awareness of the
role, position and importance of people-to-people diplomacy, DUFO has created
consensus, built an organizational network from the provincial level to the
grassroots level, and mobilized total force of officials, members and people
from all walks of life participating in people-to-people diplomacy. Besides, DUFO
has signed a coordination agreement with relevant departments and sectors, so
the coordination in implementing tasks is also very smooth, effective and
synchronous.
During the 2019 – 2024 period, DUFO has hosted and
coordinated with member friendship associations to organize about 100
people-to-people diplomacy events and cultural exchanges on the Anniversary of
the establishment of diplomatic relations, National Days and major ceremonies
of countries, with rich and practical content, attracting the participation of
a large number of people; received support from diplomatic representative
agencies of other countries, people's organizations, and FDI enterprises.
DUFO's new initiative on cultural diplomacy in the
2019 - 2024 term is the Friendship Melodies Festival which started in 2020. Previously,
it was organized for member friendship associations in Dong Nai province.
Sofar, the festival has now been expanded and developed, becoming a common
playground for the Unions of Friendship Organizations of Cluster No. 04,
Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and a meaningful cultural exchange festival
between provinces in the region and the Consulates General of countries in Ho
Chi Minh City.

In addition, in the 2019 – 2024 period, DUFO has organized
05 programs and conferences on the foreign non-governmental aid
mobilization and cooperation promotion and Conference on aid mobilization from
foreign NGOs, FDI enterprises, foreign associations and recognition of the
donors’ contribution in Dong Nai province. During the past term, Dong
Nai province has successfully mobilized more than 106 groups, individuals,
foreign non-governmental organizations, companies, funds, and associations to
implement 120 programs, projects and non-project aid, with a total committed
funding value of more than 385 billion dongs. Foreign non-governmental programs
and projects have helped a part of the people, especially those in difficult
circumstances in remote areas stabilize their lives and boosted
people-to-people exchange activities; thereby, enhanced mutual understanding
and built good sentiment between people of Dong Nai province and people from
countries around the world.

During the past term, Dong Nai province Union of
Friendship Organizations has paid special attention to the operation of the
friendship associations. DUFO has organized 20 periodic meetings with
friendship associations to exchange experiences about the operational
development of friendship associations and resolve difficulties and obstacles
in implementing tasks in people-to-people diplomacy. The work of building
association organizations is increasingly focused, improving the quality of the
leadership team. Sofar, DUFO has 09 bilateral friendship associations and 01
multilateral friendship association with approximately 11,000 members. The
activities of associations are increasingly promoting initiative and
positivity, creating a richer and more vivid picture of the province's foreign
affairs, becoming an important bridge between people of Dong Nai province and
those of countries in the world.
The external information and propaganda work is
always innovated in both content and form. DUFO has increased the number of
publications of the Friendship Bulletin to one issue per quarter, upgraded the
website to a comprehensive (bilingual) news site. In addition, Dong Nai
province Union of Friendship Organizations has coordinated to build the content
of the Friendship Bridge broadcast on Dong Nai Radio and Television and
Friendship Bridge column on Dong Nai Newspaper ...; thereby, contributing to
promoting the images of the country and people of Vietnam to the world,
propandizing people of all walks of life, officials and members to be deeply
aware of people-to-people diplomacy.

In general,
during the 2019 - 2024 term, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Nai
province has made progress in all aspects, making many important contributions
to foreign affairs in general and to the cause of innovation and development of
the province in particular. DUFO has proved to be one of the active members,
with many innovations and creativity in the organization and methods of
operation; contributing to the effective implementation of the Resolution of
the 13th National Party Congress, becoming a bright spot in the country's
people-to-people diplomacy.
