On
December 14 (at the local time), at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy
in Moscow, the 4th Congress of Vietnamese Association in Russia for the
2024-2029 term took place. At the Congress, leaders of the Vietnamese Association
in Russia proposed and unanimously approved by congress delegates to develop
this association into the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in Russia to
properly reflect the characteristics of the community with about 100,000
compatriots.

The Congress also decided to immediately organize
the first Congress of the Union to perfect the apparatus, and at the same time, have democratic consultation to appoint the Presidium for the 1st
term to elect the President, and members of the Standing Committee and
Inspection Committee. Businessman Do Xuan Hoang is elected by the Congress as the
President of the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in Russia, tenure 1, for the
2024-2029 term. The event also celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the
establishment of the Vietnamese Association in Russia, looking forward to the
75th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two
countries and major holidays of the two countries in 2025.
Attending
the Congress were 54 delegates representing leaders of Vietnamese Associations
in Russia, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi, representatives of
the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, and representatives of
departments, boards of the Embassy and relevant to agencies. Reporting at the
Congress, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Russia Do Xuan Hoang
summarized the results of the Association's activities in term III and
presented the direction of the Association's activities in the coming time. He evaluated
the Association's progress in 3 groups of tasks: building a strong, united
community; mobilizing and organizing activities towards the homeland; people-to-people
diplomacy work, contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship
between Vietnam and Russia.
Accordingly,
thanks to the efforts of the entire community, the Association has gathered the
vast majority of Vietnamese people and units living, studying and doing

into the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in Russia, announced the Charter of

Union and voted to approve the list of Presidium of the Union of Vietnamese
Organizations in Russia, tenure I, for the 2024 - 2029 term.
Speaking
at the Congress, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi acknowledged
and appreciated the Association's efforts in uniting and building a growing
Vietnamese community in Russia, with many activities towards the homeland in

mobilizing people, building deep solidarity, unifying activities, supporting
people to strengthen their legal status in the host country, and promoting

Previously,
in Moscow capital, the Youth Library - the first library for Vietnamese youth
and students in Russia - officially came into operation. The project aims to
develop reading culture, create a learning and research space for the
Vietnamese student community in Russia. This is a project carried out with the
companionship of the Vietnamese Association in Russia and the "Tradition
and Friendship" Fund. Mr. Le Huynh Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Youth
Union Affairs Committee, Chairman of the Vietnamese Student Association in

The
Youth Library is an important project of Vietnamese youth in Russia aimed at
welcoming Party Congresses at all levels, moving towards the 14th National
Congress of the Party, as well as on the occasion of celebrating the Congress.
4th Congress of Vietnamese People in the Russian Federation.
The
project originated from the idea of Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi during a
meeting with youth representatives in the Russian Federation on October 18,
2022, right when the Ambassador began his term of office. The library is
expected to operate effectively, spread knowledge and promote reading culture
in the young Vietnamese community in Russia, as well as become a place for
young people to meet, interact and connect.
