​On June 28, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Nai province coordinated with the Propaganda and Trainning Commission under the Dong Nai Province Party Committee to organize a symposium "The situation of the world, the region and the role of external information affairs and people - to - people diplomacy in the new situation".

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai province Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee on external information affairs Ho Thanh Son highly appreciated the initiative of the Propaganda and Trainning Commission under the Dong Nai province Party Committee and the Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Nai Province.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai province Party Committee said that in recent years, the global and regional situation continues to evolve many fluctuations, many changes and challenges. Hostile forces increasingly use new media to promote sabotage against our Party and State. In the face of this situation, external information affairs has a very important task that is to pave the way and implement the Party's ideological work.

Therefore, each cadre and member must be a soldier on the information front. It is necessary to promote external information propaganda and people-to-people diplomacy activities. Along with that, people - to - people diplomacy must promote the pioneering role, flexible advantages in using "soft tools" to send and transmit information; create and maintain a peaceful and stable environment, develop the country, protect the interests of the nation - people.

Comrade Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested the forces working in external information work and people – to – people to continue implementing Circular No. 01-TT/TU of the Provincial Party Committee: focusing on propaganda to contribute to raising awareness of officials and people about people-to-people diplomacy, thereby creating consensus in society; besides, proactively and actively propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and promoting the images of people of Vietnam and Dong Nai province to the world; at the same time, regularly innovating the content and form of media products; increasing bilingual products; fighting and refuting the distorted claims of hostile forces.

 

Overview of the Conference

At the conference, more than 300 delegates were informed by  Dr. Phan Anh Son, Vice President, General Secretary of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, President of the Vietnam Institute for International and Public Diplomacy Studies on the topic "The global and regional situation in recent times and the role of extenal information work and people-to-people diplomacy in the new situation".

The Conference helps update news for the team working on external information work; thereby unifying awareness and promoting the role and responsibility of individuals and organizations for external information work and people to – people  diplomacy.
