​       Established in May 2016 on the basis of good relationships in many fields of the province with Korean localities and businesses, the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association of the province (the Association) has made efforts to effectively deploy many people-to-people exchanges activities with Korean partners and businesses. The Association not only build and strengthen members who are enthusiastic and responsible for the Association's work, but also actively contribute to social security activities in the province.

Developing the Association’s organization

One of the key tasks of the Association in its first term is to develop a network of members and affiliated branches to create resources to participate in exchange activities and promote the image of the country and localities to the Korean people. By the end of March 2023, the Association has established 03 affiliated branches at Dong Nai University, Lac Hong University and Posco VST CO., LTD with a total of nearly 500 members. The activities of the Association and the branches in recent time have really attracted a large number of members to participate regularly and expand exchanges and cooperation with Korean partners. In particular, the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association of Posco VST Company is also the first branch established at an FDI enterprise in the province.

Every year, the Association reviews the number of members and supplements information to consolidate and develop the association's organization and strengthen bonds with members. The Association also coordinates with provincial agencies and units to continue to mobilize members, especially the younger generation, to participate in Association activities as well as coordinate with Korean businesses in the province to continue promoting the establishment of friendship branches at businesses. The establishment of friendship branches at FDI enterprises will create conditions for a more sustainable relationship between Vietnamese workers and Korean investors, so that Dong Nai is not only an investment and business destination but also a place to connect the friendship between the people of the two countries, starting a new step of development linking the Association's work with FDI enterprises in the province to become better and better.

The purpose of the association's activities is to strengthen, consolidate and develop the relationship of friendship, solidarity and understanding between the people and government of Dong Nai province and the Korean people. In recent times, the Association has proactively coordinated with agencies and units in the province to regularly organize outstanding people-to-people exchange events such as: Vietnamese - Korean cultural quiz competition, traditional costume performance, cultural exchanges festival between Vietnam and Korea, exchanges between Dong Nai students and the Korean Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, exchanges with Korean businesses on the topic "Korean business culture with Dong Nai students”… attracted a large number of participation from members, people from all levels in the province as well as Korean partners in Vietnam. The Association branches also actively implement people-to-people exchange activities of the two countries associated with professional tasks to connect members with the Association's activities.

In addition, the Association also established relationships with the Asia Exchange Association - Korean, Vietnam - Korean Cultural Association, Jeju Institute for Cultural Promotion and Development, HANGUK Korean architectural group... From 2016 up to now, the Association has mobilized nearly 300 million VND to support the province's social security activities such as: awarding scholarships to students; giving gifts to people in difficult circumstances; sponsor learning and teaching equipment for preschools. These are meaningful friendship activities of businesses of the two countries joining hands to contribute to the social security of the province, tightening solidarity and understanding of the country and people of Dong Nai and Korea.

The first term of the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association of Dong Nai province has gradually ended with many remarkable results. Acting as a bridge in people-to-people exchange activities between Dong Nai people and Korean diplomatic agencies, people's organizations and businesses. Thereby, contributing to the general economic - social - cultural development of the province. This is also a favorable premise to promote the Association's cultural and people-to-people exchange activities to develop better in the new journey - the second term of the Association.
