On the morning of May 19, 2023, the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association of Dong Nai province successfully organized the Congress term II (2023 - 2028) at Golden Lotus Restaurant. Attending the Congress were Mr. Mai Thanh Hai - Vice Chairman of the Central Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association; Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh, Member of the Standing Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission; Mr. Pham Xuan Ha, Member of the Standing Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Trainning Commission; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of provincial departments, branches, unions and 150 official delegates.

With a spirit of serious work, democracy and high responsibility, based on the discussion and agreement of delegates attending the Congress, the Congress voted and unanimously approved the report on summarizing the work for term I and operational  direction for term II of the Association; review report of the Association's Executive Committee and the  Inspection Committee, term I. The Congress elected the Executive Committee, term II, for the period from 2023 to 2028, including 16 members led by Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh, Member of the Standing Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Commission as Chairman of the Association.

According to Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang, Korean investors ranked first in the number of invested projects in Dong Nai with 426 projects, total capital of 7.2 billion USD. In order for the Association's activities to truly become an important bridge, strengthening the relationship, peace, solidarity, cooperation and development between the people of the two countries in general, Dong Nai province and Korean localities in particular, the Association’s Executives Committee need to closely follow the policies and orientations in people - to - people diplomacy of the Party, the State, the Union of Vietnam Friendship Organizations and Dong Nai province to implement the economic, cultural, political events and other important activities in diplomatic relations between the two countries. In addition, the Association needs to proactively and actively establish relationships with Korean people's organizations and businesses in Vietnam and Korea; strengthen the organization of Association activities, establishment of grassroots branches in agencies, localities and businesses; bring the Association's activities into depth, practicality, professionalism and efficiency...

At the Congress, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 15 groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in the work of building and developing the Association. The Association also coordinated with the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KoCham) in Dong Nai, to present 20 study encouragement gifts (2 million VNĐ/each) to students of Lac Hong and Dong Nai Universities.

Established in 2016, the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association of Dong Nai province includes nearly 200 members who are Vietnamese in Dong Nai and have lived, studied and worked in Korea as well as have been studying, doing research and working  with Korean partners in the province. So far, the Association has more than 500 members and is currently one of 10 member friendship organizations under the Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Nai province.

During the past term, the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association of Dong Nai province promoted its operation, established grassroots branches at Korean schools and businesses in the province; at the same time, strengthened the organization of the Association's activities to become more in-depth, practical, professional and effective. In addition, from 2016 up to now, the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association of Dong Nai province has mobilized nearly 300 million VNĐ from Korean and Vietnamese businesses in the province to participate in social security activities of the province.
