On the morning of May
10, 2023, at the Political Training Center of Cam My district, the Vietnam -
Cambodia Friendship Association of Cam My district held the second Congress
(2023 - 2028). Attending the Congress were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tri - Chairman of
the Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Nai Province, Mr. Huynh Cong Phuc
- Vice Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association, Mr. Tran Thanh Hung -
Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association, Mr. Vu
Thanh Tung - Permanent Deputy Secretary of Cam My District Party Committee, Mr.
Luu Van Suu - Chairman of Cam My District People's Council, together with
leaders of district’s offices, divisions, organizations, the Command of
Division 302, Regiment 88 and 152/222 members belong to 14 affiliated association
branches.

With a spirit of serious work, democracy
and high responsibility, based on the discussion and voting of delegates, the
Congress voted and unanimously approved the Political Report summarizing the result
of the first term and working direction for the second term of the Association;
the review report of the Association's Executive Board, the Inspection
Committee of the first term; announced the Charter (amended, supplemented) of
the Association. The Congress consulted and elected 21 comrades to the
Association's Executive Committee, the 2nd term for the period from 2023
to 2028. Mr. Tran Van Thuc - Chairman of the district's Vietnam Fatherland
Front Committee was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam -
Cambodia Friendship Association of Cam My district, term 2023 - 2028.

After 07 years of
operation, the Executive Board of the Association has actively established 7
branches, bringing the total number branches to 14 with more than 200 members.
On that basis, one of the key tasks of the Association is to propagate and
cultivate the traditional friendship between the peoples of the two countries
with many outstanding activities such as: Cooperating with the Veterans
Association of 13 communes to organize a special talk for the local young
generation on tradition of revolutionary struggle and the noble international
friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia; organizing for cadres and members to
visit the previous battlefields and places of their friends where they once
fought and worked, and building up an association fund to maintain the
Association's activities. Besides, the District’s Association also joined the
delegations of district leaders to welcome domestic and foreign delegations to
visit Brigade 125’s base; paying tribute and honoring heroes, martyrs, wounded
and sick soldiers who have lived, fought and worked in the war to protect the
Fatherland (southwest border) and help the Cambodian people revive and build up
a new life.
It is with the above practical meaning that in recent times, the
Association's activities have always attracted the attention and participation
of a large number of people from all walks of life in the district, as well as
the Consulate General of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City, individuals and
organizations of Cambodian people.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Tran Thanh Hung - Chairman of the
Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of the province and Mr. Vu Thanh Tung
- Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Cam My District Party Committee praised the
results of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Cam My district has
made efforts in the past term. At the same time, it is recommended that the
Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Cam My district in the new term
continue to promote the achievements and continue to preserve and promote the
long-standing traditional friendship relations between the people of the two
countries; focus on the development of members, especially young ones, actively
contributing to the cause of development and solidarity in the process of
international integration.

On this occasion, Cam My District People's
Committee presented Certificates of merit to 08 collectives and 12 individuals
with outstanding achievements in the Association's operation in the last term.
On behalf of the Executive Committee of the second term, Mr. Tran Van Thuc -
Chairman of the Association for the second term also presented gratitude gifts
to the Executive Committee for the first term who did not continue to be
re-elected.
