Speaking to welcome the overseas Vietnamese to the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh said that the overseas Vietnamese community is an integral part of the great national unity bloc, flesh and blood of Vietnamese people. Therefore, in recent years, the Party Committee, authorities and people of Dong Nai still have special deep affection for overseas Vietnamese. Dong Nai currently has more than 32,000 overseas Vietnamese living and working in countries and territories around the world and nearly 18,000 overseas Vietnamese relatives living in locality and 17 businesses invested or represented by overseas Vietnamese with the investment capital of thousands of billions dong in the fields of services, education, real estate... Over the past years, Dong Nai province has implemented effectively the policies of the Party and State on the overseas Vietnamese affairs in order to mobilize overseas Vietnamese, especially the young generation to show their love to their homeland, actively contribute to the development of the host country; then, become a bridge, and continue to promote the cooperation and friendship between Dong Nai province and localities around the world.

By the end of 2022, Dong Nai has established 9 bilateral friendship associations representing the friendship relations between Vietnam and Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Russia, Korea, Japan, China, France and the United States; and the Vietnam - ASEAN multilateral friendship association. The Steering Committee on overseas Vietnamese affairs has been consolidated, increasingly affirmed its role as a link between the Party Committee, the government and the people of Dong Nai province and Overseas Vietnamese worldwide.

According to the Chairman of the Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Thanh Tri, the annual “Friendship Meeting with Overseas Vietnamese” in Dong Nai province ​​has always received the attention and participation of overseas Vietnamese from the province and their relatives living and working in the locality. Especially in recent years, Dong Nai province also, every year, receives approximately 200 overseas Vietnamese from Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai who are businessmen, intellectuals, investors. They have many discussions, suggestions and recommendation for the socio-economic development of the province.

At the Meeting, the provincial departments, agencies and sectors provided more information about a dynamic Dong Nai province of the Southern key economic region which is full of potential and opens up more investment opportunities for the businessmen community, Vietnamese individuals and investors nationwide and worldwide. Many overseas Vietnamese shared and recommended many specific and practical contents to the socio - economic development of the province.
