With the
determination to successfully implement the sustainable development goals in
the province until 2030, the government
and people of Dong Nai Province have
been paying great attention to resources from the cooperation and support of international
friends, foreign non-governmental organizations (FNGOs), and FDI
enterprises in
order to soon achieve the province’s development goal. Because of that, on the 22nd of January
2020, the People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province issued Decision 294/QD-UBND
on The Program on strengthening FNGOs aid mobilization
and cooperation in Dong Nai Province in the period of 2019– 2025. Accordingly,
Dong Nai province prioritizes cooperation and mobilization for foreign
non-governmental aid in areas such as:

Education: Urgent needs in building and upgrading preschool educational
institutions; fostering and training preschool teachers, training and fostering
skills for child nurturers in
children's groups and families. There is a great demand for cooperation in
building and expanding primary and secondary school facilities, equipping
function rooms, and health rooms, developing library systems, and building clean
water systems in both urban and
rural schools. Currently,
there are over 22,152 children in difficult circumstances and over 1,260
children in extremely difficult circumstances in the province. Therefore, there
is a need for long-term scholarships for disadvantaged children to learn from
primary to university, this is the chance for them and their families to be
wealthier.

Health: There is in high demand in
supporting the upgrading and repairing
of commune-level health facilities,
and medical equipment within the province; training to improve the quality of
medical examination and treatment skills of doctors in the province, especially
at commune health stations in rural areas.

Solving social problems: The great need is to focus on
improving the quality of lives
of people in mountainous areas, ethnic minority areas. Simultaneously,
improving health care,
education, environmental sanitation, housing, and clean water for daily life…
for disadvantaged people that associated with new rural construction. For urban
areas and areas where industrial zones are concentrated, rapid mechanical
population growth come along with many social security problems that need to focus on solving such as needs for accommodation, transportation,
learning conditions, health, environment, vocational training, and so on.

There
are tens of thousands of people with disabilities in the province, of which:
People with severe and especially severe disabilities are over 32.6 thousand
people; 3,531 children with disabilities (ages 0-16); 2831 Agent
Orange victims are deformed. One of the main causes is the effects of dioxins
from the war with long-term sequelae over the generations. In addition to taking
care, nurturing, and supporting from all levels of government and people in the
province, it is necessary to have help from domestic and foreign organizations and individuals for health care, medical
treatment, rehabilitation for disadvantaged people, improve the quality of life
of people with disabilities and Agent Orange victims, helping them confidently
integrate into the community.

There
are over 198,000 ethnic minority people, including many ethnic minority
households with difficulties and substandard housing in Dong Nai province. Therefore, the need to be financed to build houses, helped
in livestock, and crops so that people can stabilize their lives out of poverty
sustainably is essential.

Training
& Vocational Education: Dong Nai province wishes to cooperate in activities of exchange,
linkage, supply, supplementing
highly qualified vocational experts and teachers for schools, centers, and
vocational training institutions, linking training and practice, schools and
businesses. Supporting in vocational training, along with job creation for
disadvantaged people, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, and immigrant
workers.

After 3 years of implementing the Program on strengthening
cooperation and mobilizing foreign non-governmental aid, there are cooperations with 124 turns of
individuals, FNGOs and other donors (FDI enterprises, business associations,
trade countries) in Dong Nai province, implementing 136 programs, projects, and
non-project aids, with a total committed budget of nearly 12 million USD,
equivalent to 275.3 billion VND.

2019– 2025.
The responsible
collaboration of many FNGOs
and other donors both material and technical has
accompanied with the government of Dong Nai province to bring out significant
changes for a part of people including
people with disabilities and children in difficult circumstances; timely
support medical supplies for Dong Nai to repel and control the Covid -19 pandemic.
Government and People of Dong Nai Province appreciate and sincerely thanks the
positive contributions of organizations and individuals who have given good
feelings, and attached to Dong Nai province while you are also facing
difficulties due to the pandemic. Moreover, through the implementation of FNG
projects, the solidarity and friendship between the people of Dong Nai province
and the people of other countries has bare fruit.
From
the above favorable results, Dong Nai province always believes that in the
coming time, we will continue to receive the cooperation of FNGOs and other donors to implement more practical and
effective projects, contributing to striving to accelerate the achievement of
the province's sustainable development goals. Simultaneously, expanding
friendship and people-to-people cooperation with many countries around the
world.
