The awarding ceremony
was held in a hybrid form with participants from Vietnam and Singapore. In
Hanoi, attending the awarding ceremony of the "50-10 Logo contest"
were Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Viet Nam Union of
Friendship Organizations (VUFO); Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to
Vietnam Jaya Ratnam and the President of the Vietnam - Singapore Friendship
Association Vu Viet Ngoan.
The online participants included
representatives from the Vietnamese Youth Alliance in Singapore (VNYA), the
Singapore Global Network (SGN), the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, and the
contestants.
Vietnamese college student Le Thanh Hong
of Singapore Polytechnics (Singapore) is the winner of "50-10 Logo
Contest", as announced by the Organizing Committee on January 19, 2023.
Hong's logo will be the official logo for the 50th anniversary of diplomatic
relations and the 10th anniversary of Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and
Singapore.

The winner of the
"50-10 Logo Contest" is Le Thanh Hong - a student of Singapore
Polytechnics (Singapore).
The launch of "50-10 Logo
Contest" starting October 2022 was hosted by the Vietnamese Youth Alliance
in Singapore (VNYA) in collaboration with the Singapore Global Network (SGN) to
celebrate the relationship between the two countries.
The contest is also supported and
sponsored by the Embassy of Singapore in Hanoi, the Embassy of Vietnam in
Singapore, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, and the Vietnam -
Singapore Friendship Association.
Eligible participants are Vietnamese
students from high school to doctoral level (PhD) currently studying in
Singapore. The three main awards were voted and awarded by the judges,
including 1 Winner for S$300 and 2 Runner-ups for S$100 each. There were also 3
awards for most voted by social media post, for S$50 (The prizes are in
CapitaLand vouchers).
This ceremony marked the first event of a
milestone year in Singapore-Vietnam relations – the 50th anniversary of the
establishment of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of Strategic
Partnership, as announced by the Organizing Committee.
At the event, Ambassador of the Republic
of Singapore to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam affirmed the good relationship between the
two countries.
"Our robust economic relations are
the cornerstone of our bilateral ties. Singapore is the second largest source
of foreign direct investment in Vietnam. This reflects the strong confidence
that our businesses have in Vietnam’s economic prospects and potential. Most
importantly, our people have a shared cultural understanding as fellow citizens
of ASEAN. Vietnam has always been a popular destination among Singaporean
students. Similarly, Singapore has always welcomed Vietnamese students into our
country and educational institutions," said the Singaporean diplomat.
He was also pleased with the outcomes of
the contest, thanking all participants for their creative and unique entries.
The "50-10 logo contest" shows
that VNYA, the host, is a great example of how youths from our two countries
can work together to achieve their shared aspirations. The friendships built up
through such groups will lay the foundation for our continued cooperation over
future generations.
According to the President of Vietnam -
Singapore Friendship Association, the winner's logo is used in a series of
activities to celebrate the anniversaries of bilateral relations hosted by the
Embassy of Singapore in Hanoi, the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, SGN,
Vietnam - Singapore Friendship Association and partners.

In her acceptant speech, the winner -
Vietnamese college student Le Thanh Hong thanked the Organizing Committee for
giving young people the opportunity to join a fun and meaningful contest.
With the winning logo, she hopes that the two
countries will have successful events to celebrate the two big anniversaries of
bilateral relations in 2023. Le Thanh Hong also wished that Vietnam - Singapore
relations will continue to flourish and gain many achievements in the future.
