​On June 24, in Hanoi, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Head of the Delegation Affairs Commission, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Organisation, President of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association had a meeting with Ms. Men Sam An - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Assembly – Senate Relations and Inspectorate, Vice Chairperson of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Association on the occasion of her official visit to Vietnam.

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An expressed her pleasure to attend the 55th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia (June 24, 1967 - June 24, 2022). At this solemn celebration, she met a large number of former experts, Vietnamese volunteers, Vietnamese mothers and Cambodian students studying and doing research in Vietnam. The Anniversary is a testament to the consolidation and cultivation of the fruitful friendship, solidarity and cooperation among the people of the two countries, which is more and more sustainable and long - lasting.

The Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister said that Vietnam and Cambodia have completed the demarcation of about 84% of the land border of the two countries, and will continue to negotiate and settle the remaining 16%. The Friendship Association of the two countries have also actively exchanged and strengthened solidarity, friendship and cooperation in the fields of security and defense.

Ms. Men Sam An affirmed that the Friendship Associations of the two countries were the bridges between the Party and the Party, the government and people, and between the people and the people, and the Friendship Associations of the two countries would continue to foster solidarity and friendship for more fruitful cooperation.

President of the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Organizations Nguyen Thi Thanh  thanked the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An for spending valuable time working with the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association and warmly welcomed Ms. Men Sam An and the delegation of the Kingdom of Cambodia to officially visit to Vietnam and attended the 55th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.

In the past 55 years, despite many changes in the world and regional situation, the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive and long-term cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia have been constantly consolidated and strengthened in all fields, increasingly developed in depth, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two nations, actively contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and around the world. Vietnam's consistent foreign policy always attaches great importance to and does its best with Cambodia to preserve, promote and pass on to future generations the traditional relationship that generations of leaders of the Party of the two countries have worked hard to cultivate.

Along with the good development of the relationship between the two countries, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh is happy and proud of the contribution of the Friendship Association of the two countries in the cause of cultivating solidarity and friendship among the people of the two nations. President of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association affirmed that the Association would make efforts and coordinate with the Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Association to further strengthen activities of friendship exchanges and cooperation among the people of the two nations.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh thanked the Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Association for sending an invitation to the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association to visit and work in Cambodia in July 2022 and informed that the Association was actively preparing for the visit.

In the Vietnam - Cambodia, Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Year 2022, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association at the central and local levels have organized and had plans to organize many commemorative activities with different forms and contents, including the "5th Vietnam - Cambodia People's Friendship and Cooperation Meeting" which will be held in Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong provinces. In October of 2022, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association will also review the 10 years of “Nurturing the seeds of friendship" Program. The President of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association cordially invites Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An and the Cambodian people's delegation to attend the activities.
