The Delegation of the
Central Lao - Vietnam Friendship Association led by Prof. Dr. Boviengkham
Vongdara - Member of the Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary
Party, Minister of Science and Technology, President of the Lao National
Academy of Science (LNAS), Chairman of the Laos – Vietnam Friendship
Association visited and worked in Vietnam on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary
of the establishment of diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 - September 5,
2022), the 45th Anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and
Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos (July 18, 1977 - July 18, 2022).

On July 18, in Hanoi, the
Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the
President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland
Front and Hanoi city solemnly held a Ceremony to celebrate the 60th Anniversary
of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 45th Anniversary of the
signing of the Vietnam - Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.

At the Ceremony, there
was the attendance of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Nguyen Xuan
Phuc; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh

delegation of the Central Committee of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship
Association led by Mr. Khamoui Keomani - Member of the Standing Committee of
the Central Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association, advisor of Taio Company
(Laos),
Chairman
of the Vietnamese Association in Vientiane Capital, visited and worked at Thai
Nguyen University of Education.

At the meeting, the representative
of the Central Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association expected that Thai Nguyen University
of Education, provincial leaders and agencies, departments and sectors would
facilitate and assist Laos in education and training more foreign students sothat
they could contribute to the construction of Laos, and promote Vietnam - Laos
relations forever green and sustainable after their graduation.
Within the framework of
the working session, the delegation of the Central Laos - Vietnam Friendship
Association met with Lao students studying at the University of Education -
Thai Nguyen University and visited the University's facilities.
Deploying
many meaningful activities in the Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022
On July 19, the Laos -
Vietnam Friendship Association and the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association
held a discussion and agreed on many activities in the Vietnam - Laos Solidarity
and Friendship Year 2022.

In particular, the two
Associations are expected to organize the 5th Vietnam - Laos Friendship
Festival in September of 2022 in Quang Tri (Vietnam) and Savannakhet (Laos)
provinces.
The two Associations
agreed to continue promoting the activities of education
and propaganda about the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos to the
public, especially the young generations of the two countries, in various ways
to improve the awareness and understanding of the importance of preservation
and promotion of the Vietnam - Laos relationship.
It is necessary for the
two parties to coordinate with relevant agencies to promote and improve the
quality of education and training cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, from
the stage of student selection, student training and connection with students
when they return their homeland after graduation.
The Laos - Vietnam
Friendship Association will continue to write articles for a bilingual special
edition in Vietnamese and Lao languages, which is expected to be published on
the occasion of the celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between the two countries. The Association also continues to actively implement
the Story - telling Contest and send entries to the Organizing Committee to
gather and organize a Closing Ceremony in the third quarter of 2022. In
addition, the Central Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association will continue to
coordinate with the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos, the
Propaganda and Training Commission of the Central Committee of the Lao People's
Revolutionary Party to organize a song and poetry writing contest about the
relationship between the two countries.

On the occasion of a working
trip to Vietnam, on July 19, the delegation of the Central Laos - Vietnam
Friendship Association visited ATK Dinh Hoa Special National Historical Relic (in
Thai Nguyen).

At the President Ho Chi
Minh Memorial House (at ATK Dinh Hoa Special National Historical Relic), the
delegation of the Central Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association respectfully
offered incense, flowers to commemorate and pay their respects as well as deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh;
visited Uncle Ho's living and working place at Tin Keo hill (Phu Dinh commune,
Dinh Hoa district).

Hoa, the delegation of the Central Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association
attended a meeting of Dinh Hoa veterans and volunteers who voluntarily fought
in Laos held by the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Dinh Hoa district on
the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, the
60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam
and Laos and the 45th Anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship
and Cooperation between the two countries.

On July 20, in Hanoi, the
delegation of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association led by Prof. Dr.

Association paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Tran Thanh Man - Politburo member,
Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Vietnam
Parliamentary Friendship Organization, Chairman of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship
Parliamentarian Group.

At the reception,
Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man expressed his
attitude the Friendship Association of the two countries for the meaningful coordination
activities for the present and the coming time, especially education for the
younger generations about the traditional relationship between Vietnam and
Laos, which has been cultivated by generations of leaders and people of the two
countries, forged through many challenges, consolidated and strengthened with
the efforts and blood of generations of Vietnam and Laos.

The
three northern provinces of Laos call for Quang Ninh to cooperate and support
in science and technology
Also on July 20, working
with Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh - Provincial Party Member, Vice Chairperson of the
Provincial People's Committee, Chairperson of the Union of Friendship Organizations
of Quang Ninh Province; Chairman of the Central Laos - Vietnam Friendship
Association Boviengkham Vongdara suggested that Quang Ninh could cooperate and
help the three sister provinces of Northern Laos (including Houaphanh, Luang
Prabang, Xayabury) in the field of science and technology to promote digital
transformation, high - tech agriculture, and tourism of the provinces.

In addition, Mr.
Boviengkham Vongdara said he would discuss with the Provincial Secretary - Governor
of 3 provinces to increase the number of Lao students to study in Quang Ninh
because the three provinces of Northern Laos are short of human resources. He
wishes to strengthen the connection between Vietnamese and Laotian families
while Lao students study in Vietnam and return home after graduation.
Proposing
Hai Phong to support Lao students to access
On July 21, Chairman of
the Central Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association Boviengkham Vongdara paid a
courtesy visit to Hai Phong city leaders, on the occasion of the delegation's
working trip to Vietnam.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr.
Boviengkham Vongdara wished that the leaders of Hai Phong City People's
Committee would continue to support and help the two sister provinces of of
Laos - Vientiane and Udomxay, especially in the field of modernization and digital
transformation.
As Minister of Science
and Technology of Laos, Academician, Prof. Dr. Boviengkham Vongdara affirmed
that he would act as a bridge and create the most favorable conditions for Hai
Phong city to cooperate and help the two sister provinces in this area,
including attracting Hai Phong's investors operating in information technology into
the two provinces; increasing the number of students from Vientiane and Udomxay
to study information technology in Hai Phong.
Coordinating
to search and gather the remains of martyrs of Military Region 3 in Laos
On July 22, the delegation
of the Central Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association led by Prof. Dr.
Boviengkham Vongdara - Member of the Executive Committee of the Lao People's
Revolutionary Party, Minister of Science and Technology, President of the Lao
National Academy of Science (LNAS), Chairman of the Laos – Vietnam Friendship
Association had a working session with the High Command of Military Region 3,
on the occasion of the delegation’s visit in Hai Phong.

Chairman of the Laos -
Vietnam Friendship Association Boviengkham Vongdara affirmed that the Central Laos
- Vietnam Friendship Association would coordinate with the Central Vietnam -
Laos Friendship Association to continue cultivating and promoting the great
friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam
and Laos.
Especially, the Central Laos
- Vietnam Friendship Association will do its best to work with Lao agencies to
search for the remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who died in
Laos during wars, including the remains of martyrs of Military Region 3.
Currently, Military Region 3 still has 2,892 martyrs’ remains in Laos.
