​On July 6, within the framework of the National Conference on People – to – people diplomacy in 2022 held in Cao Bang province, the delegation led by Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga - President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, visited and offered incense at Uncle Ho's temple in Pac Bo relic site (at Truong Ha commune, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province).

The delegation representing the contingent of officials in charge of  people – to – people diplomacy of the system of Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations respectfully offered incense, flowers in memory of and expressed infinite gratitude to Uncle Ho - the great, venerable “father” of the nation, a national liberation hero and a world cultural celebrity, who devoted his whole life to the cause of national liberation for independence,  freedom, peace of the country and happiness and prosperity for the Vietnamese people.

Reporting the achievements to Uncle Ho at Pac Bo special national relic site, President of Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Phuong Nga said: "It is a great honor for the people – to – people diplomacy to have Uncle Ho's attention, direction and guidance during his lifetime. As a core force to implement people – to – people diplomacy, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, has constantly grown and operated effectively.

According to the Ambassador, currently, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations has 118 member organizations, including 66 organizations at the central level and 52 Union of Friendship organizations  in localities with hundreds of Unions’ branches, sub-branches and hundreds thousands of members.

Over the years, with the motto "proactive, creative, flexible and effective", the member organizations of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations at the central and local levels have constantly strengthened, expanded, diversified and multilateralized relations; has established and consolidated the friendship and cooperation relations with more than 1,000 international, regional, national organizations into more depth, practicality and effectiveness.

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations has actively mobilized foreign non-governmental aid to make practical contributions to poverty reduction, socio - economic development and international integration of Vietnam; promoted to introduce the images of the country and people of Vietnam to the world; promoted its role at international, inter-regional, regional multilateral forums and people's mechanisms; actively participated in and contributed to the advocacy and fighting against the incorrect and hostile views to protect the nation and people’s interests, especially in complex and sensitive issues such as democracy, human rights, ethnicity, religion, sovereignty over seas and islands, water security, contributing to maintaining a peaceful environment, mobilizing international resources to serve the cause of national construction and defense, actively contributing to the world people's movement for peace, cooperation, development and social progress, and enhancing Vietnam's international reputation.

With the above - mentioned contributions, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations has twice been awarded the Ho Chi Minh Order, the First - class Labor Medal and many other forms of commendation from the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam and international partners.

In front of Uncle Ho's heroic spirit, on behalf of the delegation, the President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations has guaranteed to study and follow Uncle Ho's ideology, morality and lifestyle; constantly made efforts to overcome challenges, strived to excellently complete all tasks, united and coordinated to build an increasingly strong and sustainable system of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations so that people - to - people is really a pillar of foreign affairs, together with Party and State diplomacy to perform well the pioneering role of foreign affairs, deserving the merits of Uncle Ho and generations of ancestors, contributing to the successful construction of a strong, prosperous and happy Vietnam, and promoting peace and friendship among people all over the world.

In the commemorative gold notebook at Pac Bo special national relic site, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga wrote: "We always respect and show our gratitude to the great contribution of Uncle Ho, We vow to do our best to be worthy of the sacrifice and dedication of Uncle Ho and ancestor generations".

After the incense and flowers offering ceremony at Uncle Ho's temple, the delegates visited Mount Karl Marx, Lenin stream, entered Pac Bo cave to learn about Uncle Ho's activities in the early days when he returned the homeland after a long journey abroad.
