On the
morning of April 3, 2022, the delegation of Consulate General of Cambodia in Ho
Chi Minh City and 50 Cambodian students studying in Ho Chi Minh City led by Mr.
Sok Dareth - Consul General visited the Martyrs Cemetery of Cambodian soldiers,
the historical relics of the Brigade 125 in Long Giao Commune, Cam My District.
Ms. Vo Thi Ngoc Lam - Vice
Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Cam My District, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang
- Vice Director of Department of External Relations, Mr. Tran Thanh Hung -
Chairman of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Dong Nai province
and leaders of Division 302 (Military Zone 7), agencies and divisions of Cam My
District attended the reception.

Visiting the Martyrs Cemetery of Cambodian soldiers , Brigade 125 Historical Site, the
delegation of the Consulate General of Cambodia in HCMC and Cambodian students
respectfully expressed gratitude to the first 49 Cambodian revolutionary
soldiers who contributed their lives for the country. Speaking
at the ceremony, Mr. Sok Dareth said that the visits of historical sites mark
the side by side cooperation of the armies and people of the two countries
Vietnam - Cambodia in the ups and downs of the history. They contribute to
educating generations of the peoples of the two countries about the tradition
of solidarity and friendship, independence, cooperation and development. He also expressed his gratitude for the enthusiastic
and impartial help of the Party, State, Vietnam Army and Dong Nai province's
army and people. 125 Cambodian officers and soldiers gathered together under
the command of Samdec HunSen, forming Delegation 125 - the precursor of the
Cambodian National United Front for National Salvation. Mr. Hun Sen and his
soldiers, with the help of the Vietnamese army, built up forces, trained the
army, then returned their home to lead the revolution, overthrow the Khmer
Rouge government, save the country and the Cambodian people from the Pol Pot
genocide.

- Vice Chairwoman of Cam My District People's Committee and Mr. Sok Dareth -
Consulate General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City offerred
incense to pay tribute to 49 Cambodian martyrs of the Brigade 125.
This is also an event in his series of activities towards the
45th Anniversary of the first day of the journey that Prime Minister HunSen and
4 teammates went to Vietnam to seek the support to overthrow the genocidal Pol
Pot regime (June 20, 1977) and 55 years of establishing diplomatic relations
between Vietnam and Cambodia (June 24, 1967 - June 24, 2022).
Seng Sambath who is currently
studying at the Aviation Academy - President of the Cambodian Student Union in Ho
Chi Minh City expressed his pride when he and fellow students visited and offerred
incense to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs sacrificed for the peace,
prosperity and happiness of the country. He shared: “Today, I am very excited
that the Consulate General's leaders give us opportunities to visit and offer
incense at this historical site to show gratitude to 49 heroic martyrs who have
sacrificed here and their families haven’t been found. I would like to thank
Division 302 for preserving and embellishing this historical site. I will try
to study well to develop the country, worthy of what they sacrificed for."
It is known that from 2000 until now,
the Military Zone 7 High Command has directed Division 302 to focus on
building, embellishing and upgrading the resting place of 49 Cambodian soldiers
and building a monument of Brigade 125 - the precursor of the Cambodian
National United Front for National Salvation. Currently, Division 302 is
applying for policy and funding to build a memorial house for the Brigade 125
relic site to display and store artifacts and images related to the formation
and development of this relic site and will become a traditional place of
education for the young generations of two countries in the coming time.
