On May 12, 2022,
the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations coordinated with the People's
Committees of Long Thanh and Trang Bom districts to receive and work with the
Cooperation and Participation In Overseas NGOs (COPION)/South Korea delegation
to survey Tap Phuoc Primary School in Hamlet 5, Long Phuoc Commune, Long Thanh
district and Nguyen Tri Phuong Primary School in Tay Hoa Commune, Trang Bom
District about the progress of the project "LS Dream School 18 and the
implementation of project “LS Dream School 20".
Participating in
the survey were Mr. Kim Jae Chul - Chief Representative of COPION in Vietnam,
officials and employees of the Foreign Non - Governmental Affairs Division, the
Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and officials in charge of the
projects in localities.

It is known that Tap Phuoc Primary School, which was built
in 1996, is now degraded. There is no teacher’s room in the school. There aren’t
enough classrooms, and the students have to study in un-equipped classrooms.
Therefore, COPION and LS Group/South Korea have decided to sponsor 1.5 billion
VNĐ, together with the local counterpart's capital of more than 2.8 billion VND
to build 05 new classrooms in the school.
At the survey, representatives of Long Thanh District
People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, Head of Education and Training
Division, said that currently the project is behind schedule, but he hopes to
inaugurate a new school on the occasion of the upcoming opening ceremony in
September, so that students can have a spacious and clean environment to start
the new school year.
Also during the survey, at Nguyen Tri Phuong Primary School,
Tay Hoa Commune, Trang Bom District, Mr. Kim Jae Chul - Chief Representative of
COPION in Vietnam and the delegation surveyed the current status of 04
classrooms built in 1998 which is located on the pond floor seriously degraded
and subsided. LS Dream School 20 project is carried out with the sponsorship of
02 billion VNĐ, the local counterpart's capital of 900 million VNĐ.
The representative of Trang Bom District People's Committee,
Mr. Nguyen Phan Hoang Long - Deputy Head of the Education and Training Division,
said that the school has now liquidated public assets and handed over the
premises to the construction agency, and committed to accelerate progress and
inaugurate the project at the beginning of the new school year. The project
will help 750 students of Nguyen Tri Phuong Primary School to study in spacious
classrooms, improving the quality of teaching and learning of the school.

LS Dream School 18 and LS Dream School 20 are two
projects in the annual series of funding activities to build and upgrade the degraded
Elementary Schools of COPION/South Korea and LS Group for Dong Nai province
with the budget for each project from 1.5 billion to 2 billion. The
implementation of the project will help improve facilities and the quality of
education for some Primary schools in Dong Nai province, and simultaneously
further strengthen solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the people of
Vietnam and South Korea.
