​On the afternoon of April 22, 2022 at The Mira Central Park Hotel, the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City’s Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, departments, agencies and sectors of Dong Nai province organized the “Spring of Friendship” meeting in Dong Nai province in 2022.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Son Hung – Member of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Phung Cong Dung - Chairman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Hong Hue - Member of the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Vice President and General Secretary of the Association of Overseas Vietnamese Entrepreneurs and more than 250 delegates who are leaders of agencies, departments, sectors and businesses of the province; overseas Vietnamese representatives are businesses, entrepreneurs, intellectuals, investors in Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City and their relatives.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung informed overseas Vietnamese people about the province's socio-economic situation in 2021. Accordingly, in 2021, Dong Nai had to face many difficulties and challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, with the spirit of solidarity, determination and agreement of the administrative agencies and people in the locality, Dong Nai province has implemented many measures and policies to protect people's health and support their lives; make sure enterprises to feel secure in production and sustainable development, making a great contribution to the socio-economic development of the province. As a result, Dong Nai province's economy grew by 2.15% over the same period. Total state budget revenue is more than 62,300 billion VND, reaching 132% of the 2021 estimate and increasing 12% over the same period….

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the Dong Nai government always cares and responds to the difficulties and problems of the overseas Vietnamese community when living and working in the host countries as well as encouraging the Vietnamese community to return and participate in economic - cultural - educational development activities of the province. Thereby, it is expected to receive the attention and contribution of resources and wisdom from the overseas Vietnamese as well as their relatives in the locality and Ho Chi Minh City for a dynamic and sustainable development of Dong Nai province.

Exchanging ideas at the meeting, overseas Vietnamese delegates focused on issues of investment opportunities in the province. They expressed their excitement when Dong Nai continues to make achievements in various fields of social and economic aspects. And they would like to propose the province to continue to create favorable conditions for them to participate in investment, production and business fields, thereby contributing to providing employments - income for people, contributing to the provincial budget.

Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Thanh Tri acknowledged the responsible comments and suggestions of the participants at the meeting, connecting the overseas Vietnamese with local agencies and setors in the program, and he expected that this activity would be a bridge to promote exchange and cooperation activities of Dong Nai province with the overseas Vietnamese community in the coming time.

Overseas Vietnamese delegates offerred incense to pay attribute to the predecessors, cultural celebrities of the country and the South at Tran Bien Temple of Literature​ 

In the early morning, overseas Vietnamese delegates participated in the offering incense  ceremony to pay attribute to the predecessors, cultural celebrities of the country and the South at Tran Bien Temple of Literature - a typically cultural symbol of Dong Nai, where achievement reporting festivals, reward festivals, cultural and educational activities are organized. Then, they did visit, conduct surveys at locations in industrial zones of the province, eco-tourism sites, traditional craft villages and agricultural production sites, typical OCOP products of the province.
