At the 6th Executive Committee Meeting of the Provincial
Vietnam - France Friendship Association, Session I on October 21, the delegates
discussed and agreed to celebrate the International Francophonie Day 2022 in
Dong Nai.

Accordingly, the celebration will receive the participation of nearly
200 delegates and the French Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, with the
series of events including: Francophone
Singing Contest; The delegation led by the French Consul General in Ho Chi Minh
city visited and worked with the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations
and the Vietnam - France Friendship Association; The delegates and students
will be informed about the Study abroad counseling programs in France; then, visit
food stalls, souvenirs, folk games and attend the celebration of International
Francophonie Day.
For the Francophone Singing Contest, the qualifying round will start
from January 2022; The Contest attracts pupils, students and everyone who loves
music, French culture. The contestants can register for the popular genres,
including solo, duet, trio, top song which are performed in French or
Vietnamese-French.

The celebration of International Francophonie Day with the above
series of events will help the Association’s members, pupils, students and
people in the province have the opportunity to better understand the meaning of
International Francophonie Day and about French culture, especially by music;
at the same time, encourages the French learning movement in Dong Nai province.
Thereby, it contributes to closer ties between Vietnam and France in general
and Dong Nai and France in particular. The celebration is scheduled to take
place on February 11, 2022.
(It is known that International Francophonie
Day (French: Journée internationale de la Francophonie) is observed within the
International Organization of La Francophonie's 77 member states every March 20
to celebrate the French language and Francophone culture. There are over 369
million French speakers on Earth.)
