On the morning of November 19, the Vietnam - Laos
Friendship Association of the province held the 4th Executive
Committee meeting, term III to evaluate the results of operational activities
in 2021 and set out directions and tasks for 2022.
Attending were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tri, Chairman of the
Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, members of the Association's
Executive Committee and representatives of branches and Inter – branches of the
Association.

At the meeting, the delegates discussed and evaluated the
operation results in 2021 and set out directions and tasks for 2022. In the
past year, despite lots of challenges due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic,
the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of the province has been proactive
and flexible in all activities of the Association, such as: Ideological
education and training for Association’s members have been well implemented; the
affairs of building the Association and the spiritual lives of the members have
been interested…
In particular, the Association actively contacted and donated
medical masks to the people of Champasak province with the transport support of
the Consulate General of Laos in Ho Chi Minh City; presented gifts to Lao
students studying in Dong Nai; mobilized and contributed many necessities, cash
and actively participated in the frontline forces in the prevention and control
of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The delegates also agreed to implement activities in 2022, such
as: focusing on coordinating with the Provincial Union of Friendship
Organizations to organize activities to celebrate the 60th Anniversary
of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos; the 45th
Anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Friendship and
Cooperation includes: Exchanges with the Consul General of Laos in Chi Minh
city and Lao students studying in Dong Nai; organizing Talk S
how about the friendship between Vietnam - Laos with the
participation of the pupils, students, youth union members and Writing Contest
on battlefield memories.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial Union of
Friendship Organizations Nguyen Thanh Tri highly appreciated the operational activities
of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Dong Nai province in the past
year, and suggested a number of issues that the Association should concentrate
on in the coming time. Accordingly, the Association should pay more attention
to people-to-people diplomacy and cultural diplomacy; well prepare to
participate in the “Friendship Melodies” Festival in Dong Nai in 2021... He expected
that the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of the province would be the
most active member of the Union in the affair of people-to-people diplomacy,
contributing successful implementation of the foreign affairs of the province.
