On
the morning of January 8, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of the
province held the 3rd Executive Committee Meeting (term of 2020 -
2025). At the meeting, there was the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tri,
Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations.
Since
2020, although the Covid-19 pandemic has put profound and multidimensional
impacts on all areas of social life, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of
the province (VLFA) has actively and flexibly deployed external affairs
appropriate to each period and made important achievement, such as: successfully
organized the 3rd Congress, term 2020 - 2025; coordinated with departments
and agencies to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the National Day
of the Lao People's Democratic Republic; organized seminars for nearly 400 Youth
Union’s members and young people in Bien Hoa city; launched the 4th
collection of poems "Vietnam – Lao cultivate the special traditional
solidarity friendship" (in Vietnamese - Lao language); held exchange
activities and gave gifts to 35 Lao students studying in Dong Nai...

Speaking
at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations
Nguyen Thanh Tri highly appreciated the achievements that the Association has gained
last year. These positive results have contributed to improving the quality and
efficiency of the province's people-to-people diplomacy activities. Mr. Nguyen
Thanh Tri expected that, in 2021, the Association would continue to promote its
achievements; promote propaganda activities on Vietnam - Laos relationship,
develop Association’s branches and pay attention to the lives and spirit of its
members. The Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations would do their best
to support the Association complete its assigned tasks.

The
Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of the province was established in 2009.
Up to now, the Association has 32 branches, inter-branches at grassroots level
with nearly 1,600 members. Most of the members are those who have participated
in combats and voluntary work in Lao. Over the years, the Association has
carried out many practical activities and has become a friendship bridge to
promote the traditional friendship relations between Dong Nai and localities of
Laos.
