This is the comment made by Thai Consul General to Hồ Chí Minh City Apirat Sugondhabirom in the get-together hosted by the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association on April 28th at Phước Sơn monastery (located in Biên Hòa city). The get-together came on the occasion of the Thai traditional New Year Songkran.
Speaking at the get-together, DUFO Chairwoman Bùi Ngọc Thanh said Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership in recent years have been strengthened and productively developed. In Đồng Nai, Thailand ranked second among ASEAN countries in terms of investment inflows, particularly, over US$1.3 billion with 40 projects. Besides, cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomatic affairs have seen various activities.
“Exchange activities to be carried out in socio-cultural sector, especially people-to-people diplomatic affairs, will set the basis to develop Thailand-Vietnam cooperation,” Apirat Sugondhabirom said. He also expressed hope that Thai Consulate General can coordinate with DUFO and the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association over any fields in order to keep firm and consolidate the two countries’ relations.
