​On May 11, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of the province organized a delegation to offer medical masks to the Lao people through the Consulate General of Laos in Ho Chi Minh City

 

According to Chairman of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association Do Dang Tuoc, the Covid-19 pandemic is becoming increasingly complicated in both Vietnam and Laos. The Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association always pays lots of concerns and wishes to share the difficulties that the Lao people are facing. The Association has mobilized members throughout the province to contribute to the purchase of medical masks. Results: The Association received 25,000 medical masks and donated to the people of Champasak province through the Consulate General of Laos in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the reception, Ms. PhimPha KeoMiXay, Consul General of Laos in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed her joy and gratitude to the hearts of members of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Dong Nai province. The Consul General said that the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in Laos is very complicated. The Lao people always receive support and concern from the Vietnamese people, including Dong Nai province, with many practical activities such as funding aid medical equipment and supplies, sending teams of doctors and experts to Laos to support them in the Covid-19 control and prevention. Particularly, the Consulate General of Laos will quickly transfer the gifts given by the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Dong Nai province to the Lao people, especially those of the Champasak province – the locality has established the friendship relationship with Dong Nai province .

It is known that the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association was established in 2009. Up to now, the Association has 33 branches and inter-branchs at grassroots level with nearly 1,600 members. Over the years, the Association has carried out many meaningful and practical activities and has become a bridge contributing to consolidating and cultivating the traditional friendship relationship between Vietnam, Dong Nai province and localities of Laos.
