In Dong Nai, there are about 32,000 Overseas Vietnamese
living and working in countries and territories around the world and nearly
18,000 families and relatives of the above number living in the locality. By
2020, Dong Nai has more than 20 Vietnamese enterprises where Overseas
Vietnamese join the capital contribution of nearly VND 500 trillion, mainly
focusing on the fields of services, education, and real estate business ... In
addition, Overseas Vietnamese are also an important "catalyst" for
the success of the province's people-to-people diplomacy in the renovation
period. Dong Nai government always cares about and supports Overseas Vietnamese
when living and working in host countries as well as encourages their
participation in the economic - cultural - educational development activities
of the province; thereby, wishes to receive attention and contributions to
resources and wisdom from the Overseas Vietnamese community as well as their relatives
in the locality for a dynamic and sustainable development of Dong Nai.
Annually, on the occasion of the traditional New Year, Dong Nai
province holds meetings with the Overseas Vietnamese people and their relatives
in Dong Nai province before Tet holidays. However, this year, this couldn’t be
performed due to the complicated situation of Covid-19 pandemics, the
immigration of Overseas Vietnamese has some restrictions according to the Covid

intellectuals and investors. On this occasion, they can directly communicate
with provincial leaders and make recommendations on local polices, contributing
ideas to functional agencies in the process of policy formulation and

return to their home countries to participate in investment affairs,
contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the province.
